1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My music video contained many conventions often seen in pop style music videos. These conventions include choreography, back-up dancers, costumes, lip-syncing, hair and makeup, location/setting, colors, lighting, props, and style. In the last 3 scenes of my music video I had two background dancers and we choreographed a dance, which we practiced multiple times before recording. I wore three different costumes in my video, and my back up dancers and I wore color coordinated costumes. I lip-synced in the 5th scene and partially in the 6th. In total I styled my hair four different ways throughout the video. I also did my make-up a little, I did my eyebrows and put on a little lip gloss. Usually pop-music videos record scenes are recorded in different settings/locations. In my video I recorded my scenes in different locations throughout my house. This is my music video for the song "Umbrella" by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z. I put a lot of effort into making this video and it wasn't easy to make. This video took many days to put together. I feel like the editing was the hardest part for me overall. My editing skills definitely got better with this project. One of the new things I learned was how to add videos as green/blue screens. It came out looking like more of a background video with a picture in front of it. Although it still turned out nice, I was expecting like for it completely get rid of the background in my and replace it with whatever video I chose to use as a green screen. I enjoyed the process to making this video. I definitely got to explore and try new transitions. I learned so much more about how iMovie works and how it works. I am so thankful that while I was filming I was took multiple takes of the same scene. I took multiple takes of each scene so that I wouldn't have to back and dress up and fil...

First thing I did while editing was shorten a lot of my scenes down in between the 4-6 second range. After I shortened my scenes to fit in between this range, I started to apply filters to my videos. When applying the filters I applied black and white filters, and other filters that brightened the videos or just make the video look better. For example, for the first scene I made it black and white, then for the scenes that I filmed with the blue light I added a vivid warm filter to make our skin stand out more and so that we would look less blue. Once I finished applying filters to my videos, I inserted all my clips into iMovie. Before doing this, I noticed that my fifth and seventh scene were slightly crooked so I had to straighten it. From there I went to YouTube and screen recorded the audio that I wanted to use for my song. For my last three scenes, I was not able to meet up with my other back up dancer because one of them were still not feeling well. As a result, I asked my two younger sisters be my back up dancers and they agreed. So now that I had new back up dancers I who are much shorter and younger than those I originally chose I made an adjustment to the costumes for back up dancers. Instead of wearing black hoodies they wore black shirts and black bottoms. In my storyboard I said that the lighting in the last three scenes would be a dark blue but instead it was more like a green blue. When I first tried setting up my lighting, I used the tv in my living room to give off a dark blue light from a YouTube video. However, when I tried recording I could hardly see anything in the video. So I tried using the flash on my camera while recording but when I turned on the flash it defeated the whole purpose of having the tv on. I began to film my music video on November 24th and I have not finished filming yet. I already filmed the first nine scenes of my video. On the first day that I started recording (November 24th) I recorded the first six scenes. The next day (November 25th) I recorded the seventh, eighth, and ninth scene. I did not film the last three scenes yet because there was a change of plans. Unfortunately, one of my backup dancers got sick before our scheduled meet-up. As a result I began to think of ways that I could make this work just in case if she does not get better by this week. I thought of using this filming app called TikTok and use this “clone trio” effect on the app that shows three clones of yourself in a video. This could have solved my problem and guarantee synchronization between me and the back up dancers. First Scene: In the first scene, I will sit on the ground with one knee up and my face turned towards the camera. I will be wearing my first costume where my hat will be titled sideways on my head. Second Scene: At all the start of this next scene I will stand still while the camera tilts up. Then I will begin to walk towards the camera while the camera moves backward. I will be wearing the first outfit standing up but without the hat. Third Scene: In the third scene, I will be dancing in second outfit. Fourth Scene: In this scene, I will be wearing the second outfit with my umbrella opened to the side. I will try to make this scene shorter so that I can give another scene a few more seconds.
