Editing Blog

First thing I did while editing was shorten a lot of my scenes down in between the 4-6 second range. After I shortened my scenes to fit in between this range, I started to apply filters to my videos. When applying the filters I applied black and white filters, and other filters that brightened the videos or just make the video look better. For example, for the first scene I made it black and white, then for the scenes that I filmed with the blue light I added a vivid warm filter to make our skin stand out more and so that we would look less blue. Once I finished applying filters to my videos, I inserted all my clips into iMovie. Before doing this, I noticed that my fifth and seventh scene were slightly crooked so I had to straighten it. From there I went to YouTube and screen recorded the audio that I wanted to use for my song. After screen recording the video sound I snipped a little of the beginning and the end off, so that it would fit perfectly into the video. Then I went into iMovie to insert the screen recording but the audio only. But I later realized when I increased the volume that the original sounds in the video were overlapping with the music from the screen recording. So I removed the other sounds in the videos and only left the screen recording audio. I tried cutting the 6th and 7th scene as smoothly as possible so that the transition would be as clean as possible. When I inserted all my videos into iMovie, the top part of my videos were not visible so I had to find a way to zoom my video out so that a majority of the scene would be visible. I also added like green/blue screens to some of the scenes that I felt needed to be a little more interesting. There were not many cool transitions for me to use but I made the best of of what I had. Also I decided to apply some of the filters I found on iMovie for my video because they look better than the ones I was using before directly from my photos. When I was done I realized I had too many 6 second videos so I had to shorten a few of my videos a little to fit the correct time frame. Another thing I prioritized to fix was the length of scenes 1-4 because I needed the lyrics of the song to line up with the words I was saying in the video. Scene 1 was my longest scene and one of my biggest problems because it definitely needed to be shortened so that my other scenes would get time to shine. But it all worked out, and once my video was the correct length I decided to add a few more filters.
