The genre of my opening will be horror. I chose to do the genre horror because I feel like horror is more of an attention grabber. When making my opening sequence I want to really avoid making my intro look like a trailer. So choosing horror as my genre will help me avoid making this mistake. For example in the beginning of most horror films it does not jump directly into the scary parts but instead it aims towards either establishing the background or building a storyline. I also made my decision based off my resources and what I have available. My resources are not really 'limited' but there are many things that Ii just don't have access to. Like people to play specific roles like I feel like horror films do not really require a large cast. In horror films it is often seen that there are only a couple main characters. At first I considered action but I did not feel like I was capable of doing all the 'epic' scenes. I also knew that I would not find anyone else that would want to help me film these adventurous scenes. On top of that, I have a feeling that action films require a lot more work than any other kind of film. Such as greenscreens, backdrops, special effects, stunts and more. Then I considered maybe choosing drama but I didn't think I 'd be able to have good enough acting for a drama film. I also feel like developing a dramatic storyline would be pretty difficult to write. I also feel like a drama film does not really require many props which is great. However, this also stresses the importance of having a really detailed and interesting storyline. The storyline of a horror film is also vital in the making of the film. Creating a storyline for a horror film can also be very difficult especially when trying to make sure that the film is actually scary. But I do believe that I am capable of creating a horror film and I feel like horror is the best genre for me.

Production Blog-Music and Problems

I was supposed to record scenes 5 and 6 this weekend but due to the weather I was unable to.  It was raining all day on Saturday, so I did not record the scene that day because the roads were slippery and I was prioritizing my safety. Then on Sunday, my parents weren't available to film from the passenger seat that day. And my permit requires me to be accompanied by a driver who is at least 21 years old in the passenger seat while driving. So I hope that I'll be able to film scenes 5 and 6 some time this week, maybe Thursday or Saturday I'm not quite sure yet. I'm just trying to get these two specific scenes filmed as soon as I possibly can be I do believe that they'll be the most difficult to film. I was also trying to film scene 7 on Friday but I couldn't because I needed to move the couch to in front of the tv. Genre Research: Drama

This is a powerpoint that covers the conventions we see in drama. In this powerpoint I stated a common lighting in drama, natural film lighting, and I also included an example. I listed a common camera angle in drama with a picture example. I also listed a common movement often seen in drama along with an example. Then I listed the common Mise-En-Scene in drama with examples. I then listed the elements of drama. I included 3 example films of drama. I also included the common sound in drama and an example video. I got my example video from YouTube. Inserting this video into my project was not very easy at first. But eventually I figured out how to insert videos from the internet into a PowerPoint. I listed what elements of drama that I liked. I also listed what elements of drama I did not appeal to me.
