Intro Blog

I will work independently on this project. I chose to work by myself because I would not want to partner up with someone or join a group and have to rely on them to do their part. Working with partners can be difficult, because everyone will not always agree with one another. In some cases, small disagreements between the group can negatively affect the entire project. Also, it would be difficult to film with a group because I am still at home e-learning. I would not feel comfortable meeting with a partner or a group to film because of how easily coronavirus can spread. In addition, since the beginning of the school year I have been learning online at home and I have not made any new connections with my classmates. So I do not know how reliable or unreliable my peers are therefore I would rather take the safe bet and work independently. Working alone gives me more creative space and I don’t have to worry about who will agree with my idea or not. This is a one minute music video that I know I am capable of creating on my own. The song I want to use for this project is “Umbrella” by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z. I chose this song because it is one of the first songs that came to mind. At first, I had a little trouble trying to find a school appropriate song that I can make a music video for. This song is school appropriate and very catchy. The original music video for this song has some interesting visuals that can definitely help influence how I’ll film my video. With tropical storms here in Florida currently it’s expected to rain a lot. So whenever it rains this week it will be a perfect time for me to go ahead and film. There are a lot of things I still have to figure out when it comes to how I will film this video in the rain. I acknowledge that many things may go wrong during the filming process like lighting, the phone or cameraman getting wet, excessive wind and more. But if it doesn’t rain or if my idea just does not work out I’ll just put some effects into my video instead.
