-

Hello this is my creative critical reflection. I uploaded 3 separate videos including the questions. I would have uploaded these videos as a whole, but I could not because the video was too large to be embedded into this blog. I hope you enjoy.

I will work independently on this project. I chose to work by myself because I would not want to partner up with someone or join a group and have to rely on them to do their part. Working with partners can be difficult, because everyone will not always agree with one another. In some cases, small disagreements between the group can negatively affect the entire project. Also, it would be difficult to film with a group because I am still at home e-learning. I would not feel comfortable meeting with a partner or a group to film because of how easily coronavirus can spread. In addition, since the beginning of the school year I have been learning online at home and I have not made any new connections with my classmates. So I do not know how reliable or unreliable my peers are therefore I would rather take the safe bet and work independently. Working alone gives me more creative space and I don’t have to worry about who will agree with my idea or not. This is a one minute music video that I...

Editing Blog

First thing I did while editing was shorten a lot of my scenes down in between the 4-6 second range. After I shortened my scenes to fit in between this range, I started to apply filters to my videos. When applying the filters I applied black and white filters, and other filters that brightened the videos or just make the video look better. For example, for the first scene I made it black and white, then for the scenes that I filmed with the blue light I added a vivid warm filter to make our skin stand out more and so that we would look less blue. Once I finished applying filters to my videos, I inserted all my clips into iMovie. Before doing this, I noticed that my fifth and seventh scene were slightly crooked so I had to straighten it. From there I went to YouTube and screen recorded the audio that I wanted to use for my song. After screen recording the video sound I snipped a little of the beginning and the end off, so that it would fit perfectly into the video. Then I went into iMov...

The song “Umbrella” by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z is a pop song. Conventions in pop style music videos include choreography, back-up dancers, costumes, lip-syncing, hair and makeup, location/setting, colors, lighting, props, and style. Pop style music videos often have choreographed dances and a lot of the time include back-up dancers. Costumes are also commonly used in pop style music videos, where both the artist(s) and back-up dancers are dressed in different costumes. Often times the artist(s) and their backup dancers wear more than one outfit in the video. A majority of the time artist(s) do not wear the same costume as their backup dancers. The back up dancers tend to wear matching costumes or similar costumes that match in color, print, or design. Artists often lip sync on set when recording the video and put the song over the video when editing. Artists and their backup dancers always have their hair and makeup done for their music videos, the hair and make up represents the styl...
