The titles displayed during the opening sequence include the name of the studio and production company. Next the film displays the actor names, film title, casting by, music by, music supervisor, visual effects supervisor, costume designer, edited by, production designer, and director of photography title. The next titles shown are the produced by, executive producers, story by, screenplay by, and directed by titles. Images of tape recorders were prioritized in the opening sequence considering they were shown multiple times. The picture of the Hodgsons family was also prioritized. Along with a picture of the Warrens. Images of houses side by side with a road in between the houses with people walking on the sidewalks and cars parked and driving, there were two images like this included in the opening sequence. A picture of small living room along with a desk and bookshelf is also prioritized. Along with an image of a lounge chair in a corner in front of a wall which the paint looks like it peeling off of the wall was prioritized. There were also specific images of sections in newspapers relating to exorcisms that were prioritized. The picture of the two families helps show who's involved or play the main character roles of the movie. The picture of the living room gives an inside look at there home which isn't the tidiest. This image with the lounge chair against the wall shows the poor living conditions there living in. The image of the houses helped establish the location and the kind of area they live in. The images of the sections in the newspapers are to show the history and what's expected in the film. The film establishes a feeling of horror by including the images of the the sections of the news paper that relate to exorcism. Since this is a sequel in the movie prior the audience remembers watching a film about people being possessed along with exorcisms. So to appeal to the reader the include these images from the newspaper to show that exorcism will be included in the film. Technology was used for transitions and editing. For example fade in and out transitions. As for editing there were smash cuts between some titles.
