Filming-Go Time
For my first storyboard box I needed a solid black background. First I took a video on my phone while holding my phone down to my pants for a few seconds so I could get a short video of a black screen. When editing this part I had to mute the sound of the video so that when I choose my music I can include the sound without it overlapping. For my second title box I had to create a background where there's light shining into the camera. My original plan to achieve this was to use lightbulb as my light. However, this was not successful because every time I tried to put my camera up to the light and record there would be vertical black lines that would appear on my screen and move horizontally. Even when I tried to backup a little from the light so that the lines wouldn't appear I was still unable to achieve the look I was going for. Like every time I would back up just enough for the black lines to disappear I was still able to see the light bulb itself and I didn't want that. I just wanted like a bright light in the back that would shine brightly but to the point where you wouldn't be able to identify what object is giving off this light. So since I really wanted to include this bright light background I tried using my old phone's flashlight and record off of my phone really close to the light but when I got close enough to the light so that you wouldn't see the actually phone that's providing the light, the light was not bright anymore at that point. So then I used a flashlight and at first the flashlight was kind of giving me the same problem as the light bulb. Where I could see more of the flashlight rather than the light and if I was too far I would see my hand hold the flashlight. So I got the idea to turn off the lights and turn the flashlight on and try that instead and I saw some progression but I was still able to see my hand. So I set the flashlight down with the light facing up on a black surface I recording from above the light and it worked out perfectly. I also zoomed in a little bit on this part. Then I filmed storyboard box 10 and 11. Filming box 10 was pretty easy and simple while filming box 11 was a little bit tricky. For box 11 I had to use a chair and stand on my tippy toes at that to record the top of the dresser. I was planning on filming box 3 today but I did not get the chance to print out a picture of the parents' faces yet. I also wanted to film box 5 today but I couldn't find a small book that looked like a diary or that I could write "Diary" on and i also haven't printed out a picture or the parents either to tape onto the mirror. I did not get the opportunity to do that much editing today because I was more focused on filming.
