Title Research: Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

The titles displayed during the opening sequence include the name of the studio and production company. Next the film displays the actor names, film title, ,music by, music supervision, casting by, costume designer, edited by, production designer, and director of photography title. The next titles shown are the produced by, executive producers, screen story by, screen play by, and directed by titles. There were tree branches like filled in outline images that were prioritized in the opening scene. Then there were grass outlined images that were also filled that were prioritized. There were are also blood dripping images. Then there were images of a spider legs but not the body of the spider.
The theme colors of the opening sequence were black and red. Also none of the picture were actually like picture but were more like outlines that were filled in and surrounded by either black or red. I do not believe that these images really have a deeper meaning to them. These images in my opinion are just common elements seen in horror that the editor chose to include in the opening sequence. The film establishes the feeling of horror from the outset by including elements of horror in the opening sequence. The film also establishes this through the background music that gives off that creepy feeling. I feel like the film tried to appeal t their audience through their theme colors, black and red. Because colors and black are colors often seen in horror films where red usually represents blood and black usually represents the darkness. But There aren't any camera angles included in this opening sequences just background pictures. Although technology was used effectively with adding transitions and editing. For example, there were some transitions in the outset like, fade-in and fade-out. The editing to create the outlined tree branches, grass and spider legs was really good. There were also edits included to incorporate faded clouds in the background. Also edits where there was grass growing upward in some of the parts.
