Filming Blog: Grandmother’s House
On Friday, the 30th I began to film and I did not finish filming until Saturday. On Friday I was able to film my pan video, where I record the pampers box from right to left. I finished filming the rest of my commercial on Saturday night. I waited until it was dark outside to film, so that I this would get that natural dim lighting I was looking for. Because before when I tried to film during the day I was not able to find a spot to film where I was able to get a nice dim lighting. So I filmed at night to match up with the time "3 am in Pampers" that would be clearly labeled in our video. While filming I tried to keep each scene around 5 seconds long. I played the role of the mom and my cousin played the role of the baby. For the costumes I was dressed in a burgundy, pink, and white striped cardigan and tank top with some sweats and sandals. While my younger cousin was dressed in a white shirt and in Pampers diapers. For the scene where the baby had to cry I didn't record his face and I recorded just the crib instead. After multiple attempts of trying to find things that he is afraid of to get him to cry nothing worked. So I gave up trying to get him to cry because he does not really cry easily. So as an alternative I inserted an audio of a baby crying from off the internet and just recorded me walking up to his crib. I had to put him to sleep since he had already been awake. For the first scene I had my sister record me walking up to the crib to get the baby. Once he was finally asleep I then recorded the baby peacefully sleeping from a high angle in his crib. For the third scene I recorded the Pampers in a pan going from right to left. For the fifth scene I record the side view of the crib. For the fourth scene I took a clip from a Pampers commercial and I inserted into my video for the visual comparison between Pampers diapers and the leading brand. For the sixth and last scene I just included a screenshot of the pampers logo and slogan.
